Jamie got lots of Responsibility, and she made very good Choices!! The road was closed to get to the Hot Springs, and we had to hike five miles just to get to the trail head. Matt deferred the choice of walking onward to Jamie, and she came through. Jamie is tough, and she said “lets walk a ways and I can take some pictures…” but matt knew she meant walk all the way!!! Good Choice Jamie
Matt being a Gentleman and carrying Jamie’s pink waterbottle, he didn’t drink out of that girly thing at all![]()
Jamie is tough, hiking in a T-shirt!!
and she is very pretty too!
Jamie stomping the covered picnic area, with muscle
shhh don’t tell park ranger…
Matt sang and Jamie Danced!!! Practicing the Funky Chicken for the womens bball game, ( it is tradition at every BYU ladies basketball game to do the funky chicken)
The first water Hazard, It was much more dangerous than it looks, there was water beneath all the snow… Jamie walked on water here, she didn’t even get her toes wet…
Smokin Hott…the Hot Springs, well they were very luke warm, but it felt very good with the cool mountain air.
Behind us is a giant waterfall, the ledge began to erode and fall as we squatted here for this picture. Not bad for a timer shot!!!
We were fortunate to run into wildlife while we were hiking…it just happened to be other humans, and they took our picture for us!!
Majestic
Gorgeous, we bathed… with swimsuits, in the pool in our left.
Notice the wool socks, on the lower ledge, about (1/3) of the way across the screen from right to left. They got left behind![]()
Matt posting where we made base camp, the wool socks in the lower left corner…they were a nice pair. but notice by matts feet is a towel, it was sad, lots of discarded articles of clothing, we just added to the desecration of nature.
Matt wearing the pants, he is demanding that Jamie stay hydrated(with Hot Chocolate), and a banana(to avoid cramps.)
awww, so cute romantic picture on the Snow covered bridge at dusk…
A warning(or motivator) to all brave who conquer the trail to the Hot Springs.
Gross. :)
It wasn’t really Matt… Promise.![]()

Just a marker along the way home. It was a fun hike home. Even though it was dark and lots of snow, neither our fingers or our toes got frozen. It was a partially cloudy night and the moon was large and behind us. Ever once in a while the moon would break through the clouds behind us, super bright, and it would seem like a cars headlights were coming up right behind us.
The beginning of our joy and journey. Who would have thought a road closed, a road we wanted to drive on could bring so much joy in our lives. An extra 10 miles was not what we planned, but man was it fun, o baby we had a blast!!! Sometimes closed roads are the best things for us!!!
AMEN
