Temple Trip

 

   

Our ward had a temple trip last night. It was wonderful and we had a huge turn-out. I think we had 15 down at the baptistery and probably 6 or 7 upstairs doing sealings and other things.

Here we are waiting for the other girls in the baptistery and those who are upstairs so we decided to take some pictures.

The boys. :) I walked home with them. It was a beautiful night and just warm outside so we choose to get some exercise instead.

Trek Poem

Geoff and Matt wrote me a poem and had everyone sign in in gratitude for all the preparation work. It was really cute. Here it goes:

With pale faces and smiles,
we headed out on the path.
But soon after a while,
We’d regret two days with no bath.

Sometimes it was hot,
Sometimes it was dusty.
Our women were hot,
our women were busty.

The girls looked real pretty,
The boys were all flirts.
I think its because,
each girl wore two skirts.

The trail was real scenic,
with small bugs and cute bees.
The most beautiful of all,
was those hussy Qsmoot’s knees

We walked till we’re tired,
we sat and got lunch.
We played ultimate Frisbee,
till girls’ bloomers got bunched.

Without a kitchen
and under the sun,
our women were fixin’
runny peaches; not done.

Our testimonies strengthened
with each step of each day,
we were spiritually uplifted,
until the DJ.

Bug spray and camp smoke
filled up our noses
believe it- no joke
our women smelled like roses.

We crept into our tents
the wind forced us to cuddle
and as morning broke,
we each lied in a puddle.

We wished for the sun
when the rain flooded down
but we all got burned buns
when the sun stuck around.

We ate mighty fine
our weekend on trek,
the best meal of all
was our tasty treat SPEC

We trekked for two days
without restaurant or pub
instead of fording a river,
we went through a tub.

From morning until evening,
from dusk to dawn,
we couldn’t have done it
without Miss Catron.

Trek

Here is the group. :) Our ward had one of the biggest turn-outs. And even though we weren’t the biggest group…everyone knew who we were through our noise.

Believe it or not, I actually did some work!

These boys were my life savers. They helped me SOOO much.

This was dinner. The boys did all the work for this. They did an awesome job too. Trek was awesome…more pictures to come.

Moab

 

Geoff, Jeff, Christina and I went to Moab the other weekend. It was a blast. :) Here are some highlight pictures.

The first night we went and hiked to the North and South Windows, Turret Arch, and Double Arch. It was a lot of fun and we got to see them at sunset. It was beautiful!

 

We camped out that night and then had a bunch of random foods for breakfast including “s’mornings,” hot dogs, bagels and oranges. We then decided to go hike Delicate Arch before it got too crowded and hot. Unlike the family trip, we made sure that we put on sunscreen.

 

If you can’t see, it is really Christina and Jeff jumping in the middle of the arch, the zoom in is great. :) They jump high.

Attractive… :)

We then went and bathed in the river. It was a blast but you can see the boys leaning over…they are up to their knees in mud. It was awesome.

Introducing your most intelligent family member…

Okay, So I decided that it was my turn to start cleaning up and working for the apartment. So, as I was doing the dishes, my productiveness turned to annoyance at how the dishwasher was full and had not been set going. I set it going, making sure that I checked the soap so that it was the correct kind. Then I turned to make my bread and cinnamon rolls. About 20 minutes later I noticed the dreadful news…I used the wrong soap. When checking I forgot to look for DISHWASHER on it. So naturally, BUBBLES! :) On a happy note, I am making bread and cinnamon rolls.

Pool Party

I like to take pictures

But my camera broke. :( I am going to take it in to have an inspection to see what is wrong with it. Poor little guy ;) But I took some pictures from the Ward activity last night. Check out my fb for pictures.

Some help Please?!

So I have been thinking a lot about moving to the Japan House. I have heard some great things about it, and some awful things to. But the foreign language housing is ideal for someone who is wanting to be a Japanese teacher.

• Pro: My ward would be with the other language students and I would be living with a native Japanese girl.
  
• Pro: Japanese would improve immensely.
  
• Pro: It would be a change allowing me to make new friends and be a different person where no one knows me. This would force me to be outgoing and to really make an effort to have a great senior year.
• Pro: Something new and exciting. :)
  
• Pro: I would be required to spend two hours at dinner a night (Sunday- Thursday) with an apartment of the boy's Japan house as well.
• Con: While this would be great for my Japanese and for helping me pass the OPI (Oral Proficiency Interview--which I would need to get an Intermediate High on in order to teach in Utah) it is hard leaving the apartment I have lived in for the last three years and entire college career.
  
• Con: It also would be the opposite side of campus from the classes that I need to take in the Fall and away from my coaching internship.
• Con: Could be social suicide as I am not attracted to most anyone taking Japanese or who are Japanese. On the other hand, the other languages may have some cool people.
• Con: Moving (which I am already going to have to do)
• Con: Leaving the few friends here that I have
  

The other option is staying here at the Terrace

• Pro: Same people, same apartment, same ward (which I already know is a good one)
• Pro: Ward is amazing
• Pro: I can live in the same apartment all college
• Con: Same Place, same people, same ward
• Con: Not allowed to start fresh because most people know me.
• Con: Japanese will not improve and I may not get the score that I need on the OPI.

There are more, which I cannot think of right now...but any advice would be great. I lean both ways but mostly to moving. The easier way to go would be to stay here and I like easy, but I do not know if that is the right thing to do.
