There were a lot of sad tragic stories shared about death. They told that story about the widow who got kicked out of Prussia with her four children and she walked for months or something to get to Germany, burying her four children one by one in graves dug by a teaspoon, and the last one, her bare hands. When she could not take it anymore she prayed and God helped her remember what was really important.
Another story was of our Stake Relief Society President. She had four boys, and the last one was three months old when her husband decided he hated the church and left her. Luckily she said that her baby was perfect and never cried because she would not have been able to handle it. Shortly later she took the baby in for a check up and found out he was mentally retarded. Shocked she said it was a long ride home from SLC to Orem. When she got home there was a message on her answering machine about how they were going to repossess her home. What a few months she had. Her father was inspired to stop by later and lovingly told her to get up and clean up her mess, go to bed, and keep living day by day.
The first counselor in the stake presidency lost his brother when the brother took the dogs on a walk and they never found him or the dogs. Later he lost his son (who went to a birthday party) and drowned.
What tragedies each of these people faced and yet they knew that they were where they were supposed to be. They each talked about how these experiences helped them draw closer to their Savior and remember what was the most important in life.
So you can ask yourself, "Are you where you are supposed to be," and "are you doing what you are supposed to be doing?"

That is excellent and so sad too. There were a few stories shared today in R.S. about sacrifice. People are so amazing. Let's all keep the faith and be strong!
