Outdoor date

The Japanese boys did this for us on Sunday so I really wanted to do it for a date. Matt was kind enough to agree to do it with me so that was cool. We decided that we would do it as a group date and Jon would find a date as well. The first thing we did was to separate with our date and go collect things that we could use on our faces. Matt and I climbed a tree that was taller than all of the buildings on campus except for the SWKT so that was a lot of fun...It also explains why there are tons of leaves in my hair...haha

I curled my hair so that I would be cute for our date...I did know that we would be climbing trees and things like that. :)

The two of us looking so happy :)

Here is our finished project. Matt was hard because I could not find something for blue eyes...so he got purple eyes :) He thought it was blue though so don't tell him.
Here is me!
Don't we look so similar?

My One Deep Thought

I had a profound thought the other day. It was awesome. I was walking on campus and I saw a leaf fall. This does not normally phase me but it seemed to go in slow motion for me.
I thought (I often feel bad for the poor leaves with people stepping on them) how interesting it is that leaves bring so much joy to the eye and they are beautiful...and yet, they just fall to the ground and are stepped on and raked up. Then they just decompose.

That led me to thinking about how acorns on the other hand, and seeds, are not nearly as pleasing to the eye. Sure, people like my mom love them, but they are brown and not colorful. They are not noticed unless someone steps on them.
And yet, think of all those powerful trees that live because they once were an acorn, or a seed. It is cool that though it is not by worldly eyes beautiful, it has such a profound effect and can grow into something that makes beautiful things. Anyway, it just made me think of all of our lives and the decisions that we make. Do we want to beautiful like the leaf, and just fall to nothing, or do we want to protect ourselves like the acorn does and when we fall create something much better? Just some food for thought.

Football!

Matt is more like dad than all of you thought eh... :)

New Computer :)

So after my computer looked like it was a plaid shirt...and the charger broke, I was kind of thinking of getting a new computer. I was going to wait until after Christmas to use my money on it, but Matt told his brother that I was looking. I guess this was the display computer at Costco and the last one so it was way marked down. He grabbed it and bought it for me. Cool huh? (I mean, of course I will pay him back...) :) Anyway here it is.

That means I can blog again! :)
